A quick note before you read this

These Terms & Conditions explain the rules for using our website, childtherapycenterla.com. They cover the website only. Once your family begins care with us, your therapy relationship is governed by the intake paperwork you sign, including our informed consent, financial policy and Notice of Privacy Practices.

We wrote this in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, reach out and we will walk you through it.

Who we are

Child Therapy Center of LA (“we,” “us,” or “the practice”) is a child, adolescent and family therapy practice with offices in Santa Monica and West Los Angeles, California. Our services are provided by licensed clinicians and by associates and trainees working under licensed supervision, as allowed by California law.

Accepting these terms

By using our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Our website is meant for parents, guardians and other adults. You must be at least 18 to submit a form or book a call. If you are reaching out about a child, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian, or are otherwise authorized to seek care for them.

Not medical advice

Everything on our website, including articles, videos, guides and downloads, is for general education only. It is not a diagnosis, treatment or a substitute for care from a qualified professional who knows your child.

Using the site, reading our content, submitting a form or booking a discovery call does not create a therapist-client relationship. That relationship begins only after intake is complete and you have signed our informed consent documents.

Booking, calls and messages

When you book a discovery call or submit a form, we use trusted scheduling and intake tools to receive your information. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing at this early stage. There will be time to talk through the details privately once we connect.

By giving us your phone number and email, you agree that we may contact you by call, text or email about your inquiry, scheduling and appointment reminders. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to any text to opt out of texts, or ask us at any time to stop contacting you.

Fees, cancellations and payment are explained in our financial policy during intake. We do not accept insurance directly, but we can provide a monthly Superbill you may submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement.

Good Faith Estimate

Under the federal No Surprises Act, if you are not using insurance or are paying for services yourself, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your care is expected to cost. You can ask for one at any time before or during care. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your estimate, you may dispute it. To learn more, visit cms.gov/nosurprises.

Online and in-person therapy

We offer therapy in person at our Santa Monica and West LA offices, and online through secure video. Because our clinicians are licensed in California, online sessions are available only to clients who are physically located in California at the time of each session.

Using our website

You are welcome to browse, read and share links to our site. When you use it, please do not:

• use the site for anything unlawful or harmful
• try to access parts of the site or our systems you are not authorized to use
• interfere with the site's security or performance, or introduce viruses or other harmful code
• copy, scrape or collect content or information from the site in bulk, including by automated means
• submit false information or pretend to be someone else

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, understand how visitors use it and support our advertising, including tools from Google and Meta. By continuing to use the site, you agree to this use, subject to the choices described in our Privacy Policy.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser, opt out of personalized advertising, and use a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor as a request to opt out of sharing. Some parts of the site may not work as expected if cookies are turned off.

Our content

The text, photos, graphics, logos, videos and other materials on our website belong to Child Therapy Center of LA or are used with permission. You may view and share them for personal, non-commercial purposes with credit to us. Please do not copy, sell, change or republish our content without our written permission.

Reviews and testimonials

Reviews and testimonials on our website reflect the personal experiences of individual families. Every child is different, and we cannot promise any particular result. Testimonials are shared with permission and may be shortened; names and details may be changed to protect privacy.

Links to other sites

Our website may link to other sites, such as our booking and intake tools, Google, social media or outside resources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Your use of them is subject to their own terms.

Your California rights

If you are a California resident, you have rights over your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, including the right to know, access, correct and delete your information and to opt out of “sharing” for advertising. Our Privacy Policy explains these rights and how to use them.

Health information connected to your child's care is protected under HIPAA and California's Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA), and is handled under our Notice of Privacy Practices.

Notice to California consumers. Under California Civil Code section 1789.3, California users are entitled to the following notice: the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs may be contacted in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210.

Licensing and complaints

The Board of Behavioral Sciences receives and responds to complaints about services provided within the scope of practice of marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers, professional clinical counselors and educational psychologists. You may contact the Board online at www.bbs.ca.gov or by calling (916) 574-7830.

Mandated reporting

Our clinicians are mandated reporters under California law. If information shared with us, including through our website or forms, gives us reason to suspect a child or dependent adult is being abused or neglected, or that someone is at serious risk of harm, we are required to report it to the appropriate authorities.

Disclaimers

We work hard to keep our website accurate and available, but it is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no guarantees that the site will be error-free, uninterrupted or free of harmful components, or that its content is complete or current.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Child Therapy Center of LA and its clinicians and staff are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages that result from your use of, or inability to use, our website or its content. This section does not limit any rights you have that cannot be limited under California law, and it does not apply to the professional services we provide to clients, which are governed by our client agreements.

Indemnification

If you misuse our website or break these terms, you agree to be responsible for any resulting claims, losses or costs, including reasonable attorney's fees, brought against Child Therapy Center of LA.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute about our website will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
